Uganda’s 15-year-old Lorna Anyait was the star of the show as the Victoria Pearls beat Kenya by 13 runs in the Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament in Kigali, Rwanda.
Anyait, who only made her senior international debut on Monday, took one wicket for just five runs in four overs, and also took three catches and completed a run out.
Her efforts with the ball and in the field helped Uganda to restrict Kenya to 82 for 9 in their 20 overs.
With the bat, Stephanie Nampiina top-scored for Uganda with 37, as the Pearls reached 85 for 10 in reply.
The result means that Uganda are still the only unbeaten team in the tournament, and they will be looking to continue their good form when they take on Botswana and Kenya on Wednesday.
