Just moments after tending in his resignation at UPDF FC, tactician Brian Ssenyondo has been unveiled as new head coach at Kitara Football Club.

He comes in as a direct replacement for Sam Ssimbwa who departed the club earlier this month, having failed to reach an agreement on a new deal.

Upon being made head coach, the club has made their expectations clear, informing Ssenyondo of their targets for the season and beyond.

“We have chosen Brian Ssenyondo as our next coach,” said Club president Deo Kasozi at the unveiling on Wednesday.

“He fits into the club’s targets which is finishing among the top five. We think that the energy and support we will give him will enable our club be competitive,” he added.

“This season, we want to play competitive and entertaining football as well and coach Ssenyondo fills in the description.”

“He has been at the national junior teans and we (therefore) expect him to bring in a couple of young players,” Kasozi added.

On the other hand, Ssenyondo has avowed to give everything in his abilities, to lift Kitara to greater heights.

“I am happy to join this mighty family and once again happy to be entrusted with the vision the club,” he told the media.

“It’s a job I couldn’t turn down. I am a young coach who is eager to perform and I want to sit on the table of great coaches.”

“I have a culture of breeding new players to the topflight and I pride myself in that. I want Kitara to be one of the best clubs.”

Ssenyondo has previously been at UPDF, Synergy FC, Uganda U17 boys team and at Mbarara City FC in a similar role.
