Jerome Kirya is among ten players who will leave BUL FC after the club confirmed it will not renew their contracts ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.
The midfielder’s departure marks the end of his time with the Jinja-based side as BUL begins a major rebuilding process following an end-of-season review.
In a statement, the Eastern Giants said the decision is part of a long-term plan to refresh the squad and create room for emerging talent from their development structures.
“Following a thorough end-of-season review, the club confirms that all players whose contracts have expired this summer will not be renewed ahead of the 2026/27 campaign,” the statement read.
Kirya leaves alongside Ibrahim Orit, Fredrick Ngalo, Bakali Magunda, Viane Sekajugo, Thomas Ochungo, Nicholas Mwere, Julius Barasa, Isaac Wagoina, and Karim Ndugwa.
The club believes the changes will help build a stronger team capable of competing at the highest level of the Uganda Premier League.
Kirya’s exit ends a notable spell at BUL, where he was a reliable figure in defence and played his part in the club’s recent campaigns.
While BUL prepares for a new chapter, the outgoing players will now turn their attention to finding fresh opportunities elsewhere. Reports already indicate that Nicholas Mwere has reached an agreement with reigning champions Vipers SC.
