Home Cricket 18 Schools to battle in the 2024 edition of the Boys’ Schools Cricket Week

The 2024 edition of the Boys’ Schools Cricket Week will be hosted by Jinja SS from August 24th to the 31st August.

The tournament will feature 18 schools from six different regions in Uganda. The schools taking part in the finals come through a qualifier in their regions to earn a place at the finals.

The schools that will feature in the tournament include; Soroti SS, Teso College Aloet from the Eastern region.

Plascon

Gulu High School, St Joseph’s College Layibi will represent Northern Ugandan while Jinja SS, Kira College Butiki, St James SS, Busoga College Mwiri, Horizon International School will feature for Nile Region.

Ndejje SS, Delhi Public School, Shree Sahajanand School Uganda, St John’s SS, Aga Khan High School, and Kings College Budo will hold the Central Region flag.

Western Region have one school in Nyakasura School. Masaka SS, and Ntare School will fight for the pride of South Western Region.

The tournament will be hosted by East Enders Hub with the support of the Uganda Cricket Association.

The games will be played at six different venues in Jinja, including Jinja SSS (Main Oval), Jinja College (two venues), Busoga College Mwiri, Kakira SS, and Kiira Primary School.

Defending champions Jinja SS will face tough competition from 19-time winners Busoga College Mwiri and two-time finalists Nyakasura School.

Horizon International School and Shree Sahajanand School Uganda will be making a maiden appearance at the tournament.

“This edition will be a celebration of talent and sportsmanship. If you can, please find time and join us in Jinja City to witness extraordinary skills and create unforgettable memories,” Davis Turinawe, UCA Development Manager noted.

The action will start on Sunday 25th across different venues and conclude with a final on Saturday 31st at Jinja SS.
