2026 FIFA World Cup | Group K | Wednesday June 24, 2026
- DR Congo Vs Colombia – 5am
Group L | Tuesday June 23, 2026
- England Vs Ghana – 11pm
DR Congo will chase the first World Cup victory when they face Colombia in Group K at Estadio Guadalajara on Tuesday, buoyed by the confidence gained from their impressive draw against Portugal.
The Leopards stunned many in their tournament opener, fighting back to earn a 1-1 draw against the Europeans. Yoane Wissa’s equaliser cancelled out Joao Neves’ early strike, handing DR Congo their first-ever point at a FIFA World Cup and underlining the progress made under coach Sébastien Desabre.
Now, Desabre’s men want more. A win over Colombia would move them closer to the knockout stages and further cement their growing reputation on the world stage.
Colombia head into the clash full of confidence after beating Uzbekistan 3-1 in their opening match. Another victory would secure their place in the round of 32.
Liverpool winger Luis Diaz remains Colombia’s biggest threat, with Jhon Arias, Jhon Duran and veteran playmaker James Rodriguez also expected to play key roles.
But DR Congo have already shown they can frustrate top-quality opponents. Defenders Chancel Mbemba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Axel Tuanzebe were outstanding against Portugal and will again be central to the Leopards’ hopes. Up front, Wissa and Cedric Bakambu carry the attacking responsibility.
Tuesday’s encounter will be the first-ever meeting between the two nations.
Elsewhere, Ghana and England meet in Boston in a match that could decide qualification from Group L.
England opened their campaign with an emphatic 4-2 victory over Croatia, with Harry Kane scoring twice while Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford also found the net.
Ghana also began on a winning note, edging Panama 1-0 to register their first opening match World Cup victory since 2010.
Victory for either side on Tuesday would guarantee a place in the knockout rounds.
England remain favourites and have never lost a competitive match against African opposition. Manager Thomas Tuchel has been boosted by the availability of Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Rashford after injury scares.
Rashford has urged England to maintain an intensity “that they can’t live with” against the Black Stars.

Ghana, however, have received a major boost with midfielder Thomas Partey available for selection after missing the Panama match. Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare is expected to continue in goal with Lawrence Ati Zigi injured.
The Black Stars will also look to the pace and creativity of Antoine Semenyo to trouble England’s defence.

The two nations have met only once before, drawing 1-1 in a friendly in 2011. This time, with a place in the knockout stages at stake, much more is on the line.
All the remaining matches of the FIFA World Cup will be broadcast live on DStv across four dedicated channels.
