Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Jamal Salim Magoola brought smiles to his home community in Pallisa over the weekend through his Jamal Salim Foundation. Joined by current and retired Cranes players as well as singer Rickman, Magoola returned home to host a charity football match that drew hundreds of excited fans.
The exhibition match lived up to the billing, with the Jamal Cranes Select side edging their opponents 3-2 in an entertaining contest. Frank Kalanda scored the winner, while both Jamal and Rickman delighted the home crowd by getting on the scoresheet.
The Jamal Cranes Select side included players like Hamis Kitaganda Owen Kasule, Vincent Kayiizi, Yasser Mugerwa, Dan Wagaluka, Frank Kalanda, Umar Kasimba, Juma Balinya, Mustafa Kiiza among others
Away from the pitch, Magoola donated sports equipment and scholastic materials to his former school, Pallisa Township Primary School. The gesture highlighted the goalkeeper’s commitment to giving back to his community and inspiring the next generation through sport and education.
