Following an impressive performance away from home, where Uganda playmaker Allan Okello in football and Peruth Chemutai in Athletics shone above ordinary to clinch May’s accolades.
With 7 goals, which are scattered in three braces and a goal, Okello pulled a bigger return from the 6 games he played for Young Africans SC in the Tanzanian top flight.
At the awarding ceremony that took place at Nanjing Restaurant and Motel, Okello was represented by his official representative, Sultan Atubo, who received the accolade from Jude Colour Solutions’ Erone Nandawula.

Later, he mentioned,”It is exciting that Real Stars awards organizers continue to operate with a sharp eye, for Allan Okello, we don’t only celebrate goals and assists, but we are joyful that now Young African is topping the league with two points ahead of Simba SC.”
Real Stars Sports agency chief Executive officer Isaac Mukasa noted; “Honestly, it was a hard decision because we also had Owen Mukisa and Charles Lwanga in the image, but Allan Okello has been a star all over the month, he is now the second top scorer, and I believe they can clinch the title in the last five games remaining.”
In Athletics, Peruth Chemtai, who was the only nominee, was confirmed as the award winner for her Gold win, as she set a new record at the Xiamen Diamond League meet with 8:51.06, rising back to the podium after fighting a long-term injury and a series of low performances.
Elsewhere, Christine Namulumba Kango won in Netball after guiding her side, Prisons Netball club, to the East Africa Club netball championship. She overcame Margarate Bagala of KCCA netball club and Joan Namutaawe of Police Netball Club.

In Chess, Ghetto Kid Alvin Muhirwe from Kamwokya won the accolade against Ronald Wabwire and Jacinta Mbabazi, all won gold medals at the Africa Chess Championship, but Muhirwe impressed the most, scoring 7.5 out of a maximum 9.
