Hoima is officially in rally mode as engines have warmed up, dust is ready to rise, and the tension has thickened ahead of what promises to be a title-deciding showdown at the UMOSPOC Kabalega Rally. Twenty crews successfully passed scrutineering today, setting the stage for tomorrow’s full day of action featuring three long competitive stages and a super special stage later in the afternoon. This isn’t just another rally it’s the 2025 NRC decider, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
At the top of the leaderboard sit Ronald Sebuguzi and Anthony Mugambwa, holding a solid advantage going into the final round. Trailing them is the consistent and determined pair of Mussa Segaabwe and Mathias Kiyega, who know that tomorrow is their last shot to rewrite the championship script.
But the biggest twist of the weekend came with the news that third-place contender Ponsiano Lwakataka and his co-driver Paul Musazi will not be competing in this round. Their absence removes a major threat and turns the title fight into a head-to-head duel between Sebuguzi and Segaabwe two days, nine stages, and everything on the line.
The 2WD Championship is equally electric. All crews are fired up and ready to prove a point, but the numbers don’t lie Mansoor Lubega carries the upper hand heading into the final sprint of the season. With pace, consistency, and momentum on his side, only a major upset stands between him and the 2025 2WD crown.
In the CRC class, the story is almost sealed. Walter Kibande and Duncan Katumba only need to cross the finish line regardless of position to clinch the 2025 CRC Championship. Their dominance throughout the season has built a comfortable cushion that their rivals can no longer dent.
Behind them, Ahmed Kateete sits in second, while Kevin Bebeto, fired up and racing with vengeance, holds third place. While Bebeto has no mathematical path to the championship, he enters this round hungry for a statement finish.
With all cars checked, engines tuned, and competitors focused, Hoima is set for a high-voltage rally day. Expect dust, drama, and decisive moments as the UMOSPOC Kabalega Rally rolls out where champions will rise, dreams will fall, and the 2025 NRC title will be claimed.
Let the battle begin.
