After going down to Tanzania on Monday in their third game at the East Africa Trophy T20 Cup, the Cricket Cranes returned to winning ways on Tuesday.

Laurance Mahatlane‘s team beat Rwanda by 61 runs to secure their third win at the tournament.

After setting 186/10 in their Innings, Alpesh Ramjani led the Cricket Cranes in their defence of that score. The spinner picked four wickets which mostly came at the backend.

Alpesh also led the way in getting the runs for Uganda! The all-rounder, batting at number 5 scored 45 runs, the most by any player on the pitch.

He was rewarded with the Player of the Match for his display.

David Wabwire who made his debut in Uganda’s loss to Tanzania yesterday was also decent with the ball. The medium pacer gave Uganda a good start with the ball, picking one of his three wickets in the first Over.

Team captain Brian Masaba left the field with two wickets while Jonathan Ssebanja had one.

Opening batter Simon Ssesazi came short of a half century by 9 runs. The opener who already has a half century in this competition notched four sixes.

Ronak Patel also missed a 50 by a whisker (6) runs. Ronak had 61 to his name against Tanzania on Monday, but was bowled out by Martin Akayezu with 44 to his name.

Kenneth Waiswa (20) and Ronald Lutaya (17) got the rest of the double digits.

It is the third win for Uganda, and it is one that keeps them top of the table in Gahanga.

Uganda will take a break on Wednesday and will return to action on Thursday with a double header.
