Simon Ssesazi struck a brilliant century as the Uganda national cricket team stayed unbeaten on their Mumbai tour with another victory over Mumbai Cricket Association Colts on Wednesday.

Uganda followed up their 55 run win in Game One with a 33 run triumph in the second 50 Over match at PDTSA Oval to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Ssesazi was the star of the day with a composed 124 that guided the Cricket Cranes to 299/9 in 50 overs.

After MCA Colts captain Pranav Kela won the toss and chose to field, Uganda settled into the innings confidently despite making one change, with Siraje Nsubuga replacing Alpesh Ramjani.

Ssesazi controlled the innings from the top of the order, mixing patience with clean stroke play.

Having scored 49 in the opening game, the batter went on to reach a deserved century before eventually finishing with 124.

By the 42nd over, Uganda were already in control at 226/3 with Ssesazi unbeaten on 108 off 122 balls.

Dinesh Nakrani added a quick half-century to lift the scoring rate late in the innings while captain Fred Achelam chipped in with an unbeaten 22 as Uganda finished strongly.

MCA Colts fought hard in reply but Uganda’s bowlers held their nerve to bowl out the hosts for 266 in 48.5 overs and seal another deserved win.

The result keeps the Cricket Cranes perfect on tour, with the side continuing to impress through disciplined batting and calm performances under pressure.
