The 2026 UCA Men’s UG20 Tournament saw teams fight tooth and nail to stay within touching distance of the playoffs. Jinja Association Cricket Club (JACC) completed a double over Africa CC to move to the top of Group D.
JACC secured an 81-run victory over Africa CC in the morning fixture at the GM Sugar Cricket Ground. After winning the toss and electing to bat, JACC posted 135/6 in their 18 overs.
Sadam Oyaga top-scored with 34 off 27 balls, while Jonathan Nyiro added 25 off 23 balls and Faizal Michu contributed 22 off 20 balls.
Debutant Henry Kiganga and Ronnie Kato claimed two wickets each for Africa CC, while Nathan Mupere and Isa Mpiangu took one wicket apiece.
In reply, Africa CC managed just 54/8 in their 18 overs. Nathan Mupere led the scoring with 13 runs, while Moses Achema added 12 and veteran Brian Kizza contributed 11.
Sadam Oyaga was the standout bowler for JACC, claiming three wickets, while Sowobi Yunus and Shabir Ullah took two each, with Ivan Baidhu adding one.
In the afternoon game, JACC won the toss again and elected to bowl, restricting Africa CC to 44 runs in 16 overs. Nathan Mupere again top-scored with 13, while Samuel Kinalwa added six.
Sowobi Yunus was the standout bowler for JACC, claiming three wickets, while Sadam Oyaga, Ivan Baidhu, and Shabir Ullah took two wickets each.
In reply, JACC reached 45/1 in just 5.1 overs, with Faizal Michu leading the chase with an unbeaten 26 off 15 balls, while Jonathan Nyiro remained unbeaten on seven.
The victory moved JACC to the top of Group D with 10 points from eight games, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
Their qualification hopes now depend on the result between GM Sugar and Mukono Warriors, provided JACC defeat Iganga in their final fixture.
