The Uganda national cricket team, the Cricket Cranes, has seen its busy October schedule of build-up fixtures and tournament matches reduced.
The month was originally set to begin with a bilateral series between Kenya and Uganda in Nairobi from October 5 to 13, 2026, featuring three 50-over matches and three T20 fixtures.
However, the short trip to their East African neighbors has been canceled, leaving only the practice games against Jersey and the tour to Nigeria in West Africa.
Unlike the Kenya tour, which was intended for the senior national side, it will be the second team, Uganda A, taking on Jersey at the Entebbe Cricket Oval on 17th and 18th of October.
The Cricket Cranes will close out the month of October with the ICC Sub-Regional Qualifier C, hosted in Abuja, Nigeria, from October 18 to 25, 2026.
Uganda will compete alongside five other nations in this year’s tournament: Gambia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia, and hosts Nigeria.
The participating teams will battle for the top two spots, with the advancing sides earning a place in next year’s regional final.
