The Cricket Cranes stayed at the top of the ongoing Tri-nation T20 Tournament table despite losing to Tanzania in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Black, Yellow and Red nation lost to Tanzania by 5 wickets in a close contest played at the Gahanga stadium.

The game ended 132 all out for Uganda against Tanzania’s 137 runs at the expense of 5 wickets hence the costal nation winning the game with a difference of 5 wickets.

This was a disappointing loss for the Cranes who tossed off the tournament with a mission of finishing the tournament unbeaten.

For Tanzania, the win was one for the books as they had come close to defeating the African T20 associate champions a number of times.

Well, the Cranes dropped points but still keep the top spot as they redeemed their lives with two wins against Rwanda on 21st and 22nd December respectively.

Uganda on 15 points needs one more win with an impressive net run rate to be able to claim the title.

With three games to go; two against Tanzania and the other against Rwanda, Uganda has to put their best foot forward to return home victorious.

Uganda, the highest ranked team in the tournament has so far picked seven wins in nine games played thanks to a none decision game and a loss to Tanzania.

Today at 2pm, Uganda will have a chance to avenge the loss as they take on Tanzania before tomorrow’s double encounters against Rwanda and Tanzania at 9am and 2pm respectively.
