The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) celebrated its 2025 champions on January 3, 2026, at the Silver Springs Hotel in Bugolobi, Kampala, in a night dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievements in Ugandan motorsport.
The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Yasin Nasser and co-driver Ali Katumba as the 2025 FIA African Rally Championship champions, delivering Uganda its first continental rally title in 26 years.
Their accomplishment was met with prolonged applause, honoring a historic milestone in Ugandan motorsport.

On the national front, Ronald Sebuguzi, alongside Anthony Mugambwa, secured his fourth National Rally Championship title, confirmed after the final round at the Kabalega Hoima Rally.
Their performance demonstrated the value of experience, consistency, and strategic rallying across challenging stages.

In the Clubman Rally Championship (CRC), Walter Kibande and navigator Duncan Katumba delivered a season marked by consistency and precision, earning the title through a well-executed campaign.
In the Two-Wheel Drive (2WD) category, Mansoor Lubega and Ronald Bukenya were recognized for their outstanding performance throughout the season, exemplifying commitment and skill.
Motocross riders were also celebrated for their remarkable performances.
Gift Ssebuguzi claimed the MX125 title, Miguel Katende dominated MX85, Jerome Mubiru took MX85 Lites, Israel Mpuga won MX50 Senior, and the Ladies Category was led by Sharifah Kateete (MX2) and Shamirah Kateete (MX125).
These awards highlighted the depth of talent and dedication across all categories.
The evening also recognized motorsport’s essential contributors. Awards such as Safety Marshal of the Year and Motorsport Personality of the Year highlighted individuals whose dedication ensures rallies are conducted safely and successfully.
Corporate partners, including Vivo Energy Uganda, Ruparelia Group, and KCB Bank Uganda, were acknowledged for their crucial support of the sport.
A special segment of the evening was dedicated to honoring champions from the past three seasons, providing long-overdue recognition for their remarkable achievements.
It was a moment to celebrate not only individual successes but also the continuity and growth of excellence in Ugandan motorsport.

Meanwhile Simba Rally Team’s Kevin Bebeto, Diana Nagawa, and Jonathan Katende were among those recognized for multiple achievements throughout the season.
