The Kabaka Coronation Anniversary Golf Tournament will tee off this Saturday at the Uganda Golf Club after a two year’s sabbatical.

The event heading into it’s fifth edition witnessed it’s first back in 2016 but had a forced leave in 2020 and 2021 due national lockdown following the COVID-19 pandemic.

In line with celebrations to mark Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s 29th coronation festivities, the event is organised by Buganda Golfers Association.

Ssekabaka Luwangula Mutesa II (father to Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi II) playing golf in Entebbe back in the day.

Buganda Kingdom Parliament speaker Owek. Patrick Luwagga Mugumbule who also doubles as the chairperson of the Kabaka Coronation festival promised a well organised event.

“The preparations are progressing smoothly. Along the theme of fighting the HIV/AIDS scourge, the tournament will aim to raise funds towards this noble cause especially helping with the islanders” Owek. Luwagga a golfer since 1983 remarked.
