Kenya Chess Open: Nakabo, Ampaire yet to taste defeat

Uganda’s female contingent at the ongoing Kenya Chess Open Championship is putting in a solid shift with flying colours.

Peninah Nakabo and Woman Candidate Master Shakira Ampaire are still unbeaten so far and they are eyeing the bull’s eye ahead of the next round.

They have won all their opening four games which puts them at par with the top two (Grandmasters) who they each face next in the fifth round.

Nakabo is up against WGM Josefine Heinemann from Germany while Ampaire will play WGM Wafa Shrook from Egypt on boards one and two respectively.

Board ten will have a familiar affair in an all-Ugandan encounter as Takali Milly will face Esther Sandra Nalunga.
