Kenyan coach Protus Soita has been named the new head coach for the Uganda Volleyball Cranes, the national women’s senior team.
Soita, who serves the same role at OBB Ladies, comes in as a direct replacement for Shilla Omurirwe Buyungo.
Soita is a qualified Level Two coach and has a daunting task of bettering his predecessor who guided Uganda to fifth position at the previous Africa Nations Championships edition in 2021.

He will have KAVC’s Memory Dube and KCCA’s Edward Bwenje as his first and second deputies, respectively.
The Africa Nations Championships, slated for Cairo, Egypt, will kickstart on September 1st to 15th, 2023.
