Namibia needed just 25.2 Overs to track down Uganda’s total of 127 as they beat the Cricket Cranes by 10 wickets in the first of the two 50-Over games at the Bilateral Castle Lite Series on Tuesday.

After losing 4-0 in the T20I format, the Cricket Cranes were hoping for a change of fortunes in this longer version, instead the trend for them continued as Namibia made it 5-0 overall.

Captain Brian Masaba after losing the toss, and being sent in to bat unusually opened the batting with Ronald Lutaya, but his innings ended as soon the game started as he was caught after facing just three balls.

He had put on board just one run. Lutaya managed 19 off 35, and Kenneth Waiswa who completed the top order scored 42, the most by a Ugandan.

Alpesh Ramjani (23), Dinesh Nakrani (17) and Fred Achelam (14) also managed double digits, but there were two ducks including Pius Oloka and Pascal Murungi as Uganda was bowled out in the 38th Over.

It was a paltry score that Namibia found little resistance in chasing. They needed just two batters; Shaun Fouche (48) and Lohan Louwrens (76) to complete the chase with 24.4 Overs spare.

Namibia’s Heloa Ya France won the Player of the Match. Ya France had an innings to remember as he picked 6 wickets.

Oloka was handed his bowling debut for Uganda, and it was a fairly good return. Off 4 Overs, the 19-year-old conceded just 17 runs.

The two teams will take a one day break. They will return to action on Thursday for the last 50-Over game which will also bring an end to the Series.
