Mary Louise Simkins Memorial Golf Club (MLSGC) players amassed 1542 net from their top 20 players to beat Entebbe by 101 strokes as the inaugural Namulonge versus Entebbe Wakiso derby ended in Namulonge on Saturday.
Despite fielding a number of players that did not have at least 20 rounds in the HowDidIDo golf software as per some of the rules of the competition, the championship was determined using those that had at least 8 events entered, with Namulonge still winning it.

Namulonge’s win was orchestrated by Brian Aldomoro, Daniel Muwooya, Sarah Nduhukire, Walter Tukahiirwa, Emmanuel Tayebwa and Joel Kagoro among others.
Entebbe’s best on the day included Paul Habyarimana, Javan Mwesigye, Tony Kisadha, Hannington Mpiima and Mark Rubatsimbira.
The tournament joins a number of inter-club challenges aimed at creating competition and bonding among golfers.
The tournament is an addition to the UGC versus Entebbe, Entebbe versus Kilembe and the Entebbe versus Kigali championships among others.
The second leg will be played in Entebbe on August 20.
The top twenty net scores from either club shall be used to determine the winner of either leg and the total combined net scores over the two legs will determine the overall winner.
