Newcomers OBB gave KAVC no chance in the week 12 derby of the 2022/23 National Women’s Volleyball League Serie A today at Old Kampala Arena.
KAVC’s 3-0 (27:25, 26:24, 25:15) defeat to stubborn newcomers OBB saw the later maintain their fourth place in the standings with 17 points.
For KAVC, it was a second loss in round two of the regular season having lost yesterday to Ndejje Elites 3-1.
KAVC had the strength to fight only in the first and second set. In the third set, young setter Oliver Acan and her teammates pretty much dominated to win 25-15.
Meanwhile, in a one-sided meeting that went quite unexpectedly, KCCA prevailed over last season’s first runners up VVC in straight sets.
KCCA took advantage of the weakened VVC who didn’t even take a set (25:15, 25:18, 25:14).
The second set of this duel brought the most emotions and was the only one in which VVC had a tangible chance. The hosting side was leading 9-5 and later failed to convert three set points.
Because of this defeat, VVC missed the opportunity to escape the relegation zone as they remain in second from bottom while KCCA levelled points with second placed Sport-S.
