Uganda Cranes launched their 2026 edition in Canada, Mexico, and the USA with a fundraiser campaign yesterday at FUFA house, Mengo.

In a partnership with their official Beer partner Nile Special, a fundraising drive dubbed ‘Cranes Kabbo’ will have former goalkeeper and skipper Denis Onyango‘s face at the forefront.

The move is aimed at raising funds that will facilitate the National Team in achieving the dream of playing at the biggest football extravaganza.

The launch happened at Fufa Complex in Mengo with former Uganda Cranes captain and goalkeeper Denis Onyango as the face of the campaign.

“We believe this is a dream that can be achieved through collective effort and it is the reason why we are here today to launch the Cranes Kabbo campaign,” said John Paul Semakula, the Nile Breweries Connections Manager.

The funds are intended to support the Uganda Crane’s 5-year strategic plan for the 2026 World Cup campaign.

Onyango, the ambassador of the campaign was all smiles and couldn’t hide his excitement at the presser.

“Nile Special was with us in qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations twice and I believe this lucky charm will continue with this new target,” Onyango noted and urged Ugandans to support this good cause.

The campaign which kicked off yesterday has a target of at least 400 million Uganda shillings.

Every Nile Special bottle purchased, 50 Uganda shillings will go towards supporting the campaign.

During the course of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Nile Special will hold activations across several towns in Uganda starting with Kampala tomorrow at Lugogo National Hockey Stadium.
