Uganda She Cranes captain and shooter Peace Proscovia was left in awe after she scooped the Golden shot award at the climax of the 2022 Vitality Super League Netball season.
Proscovia, who plies her trade at Bartercard Surrey Storm was the leading shooter with 853 points to the good.
“It feels awesome to be top scorer after two low years,” she said after Bartercard Surrey Storm’s 58-52 victory over Celtic on the final day of the season.
‘I am proud of Bartercard Surrey Storm management, coaches and fellow players for believing in me and us working as a team,” she added.
It was the third time that the renown shooter was winning the award. It was also the fifth time in succession that a Ugandan was taking it home. Mary Nuba is the other Ugandan.
That said, Layla Guscoth was named the Vitality Player of the Season, ahead of Eleanor Cardwell, Metcalf Natalie and Funmi Fadoju.
