The 6th round of the Uganda National Rally Championship (NRC), the Rajiv Ruparelia Memorial Rally, was officially launched at Somewhere Else Naguru. The event, organized by the Central Motor Club (CMC), is scheduled for 10th–11th October in Gulu District, coinciding with the Gulu City Carnival.
This year’s rally is dedicated to the late Rajiv Ruparelia, a promising rally driver whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident. Crews will compete not only for points but also in his memory, making the event both competitive and symbolic.

The rally route will cover 260.88 kilometers, with 132.63 km of competitive stages across eight sections and 128.25 km of liaison distance.
On the NRC leaderboard, Ronald Sebuguzi and Anthony Mugambwa currently lead the standings. Close behind are Ponsiano Lwakataka and Paul Musazi, who have claimed four victories in the opening five rallies of the season. Musa Ssegaabwe and Mathias Kiyega occupy third place, with consistency keeping them in the title conversation.
The 2WD category remains closely contested. Julius Semambo and Jaffer Lukenge hold a narrow 1.5-point lead over Mansoor Lubega and Ronald Bukenya, while Amir and Kenneth Kavuma remain within striking distance.
In the CRC division, Walter Kibande and Duncan Katumba lead the standings, followed by Ahmed Katete and Morgan Serugga, who have shown consistent performances. Kevin Bebeto and Siraj Kyambade remain in contention as the season approaches its final rounds.
Clerk of the Course Enoch Olinga assured crews and spectators that everything is set for a top-class event:

“The stages are smooth, and safety has been given the highest priority. We want both drivers and fans to experience not just a rally, but a safe and memorable one.”
With fierce title battles on the line, a special memorial for Rajiv Ruparelia, and the vibrant Gulu City Carnival as its backdrop, the Rajiv Ruparelia Memorial Rally is to be one of the defining moments of the 2025 NRC season.
