Uganda’s only rider in the 85CC class at the World Junior Motocross championship Gift Ssebuguzi is ruled due to fractures sustained in training.

Due to high logistical cost implications, Uganda opted to hire bikes in Romania instead of riding on theirs but the smart move has cost the side heavily.

The riders had to have a feel of the hired bikes and the track, ahead of qualifiers on Saturday and it’s when Ssebuguzi fractured both legs.

After overshooting a jump and landing flat hard, Ssebuguzi’s dream of the World Championships was painfully shuttered.

It is not yet clear if his services will be available at the forthcoming FIM- Africa Motocross of All Nations set to be held in Cape Town, South Africa mid-August, 2023.

The battle at the World Championship is now left to the Katende brothers, Miguel and Jonathan in 65CC to qualify amongst the top 40 and see themselves at the start gates on Sunday.

From Nnalubaale Sports, we wish the youngster Gift Ssebuguzi a lightning-speed recovery.
