At Hamz Stadium Nakivubo on May 4, SC Villa has picked a two-goal advantage over Uganda Cup Semi final first leg host URA FC ahead of the return leg on May 16.

Najib Yiga finished up a fabulous move which was blessed by Hassan Mubiru to put the visitors in the lead 26 minutes into the game.

From there, the game turned into the host’s hands limiting SC Villa to play mostly after the introduction of Captain Moses Aliro who replaced Fred Amaku before halftime break.

Despite this, goalkeeper David Lukwago stepped up with the performance that secured the man of the match at the end of the game

With multiple high claims against high towers in Ronald Otti, Joshua Lubwama, and Lukwago’s low save on Disan Galiwango’s curling free kick marked his performance.

After serving the angry URA FC, SC Villa got a moment to silence the home team with Ronald Otti starting the calamity that gave the chance to Andrew Otim forcing captain Moses Aliro and URA Goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima to fall short of communication.

In the stappage time moment, Aliro attempted to back pass and the ball just passed Kusiima who was already in transit towards the Aliro and Otim on the ball.

With the advantage picked from the first leg, SC Villa will have to finish up the job when they host the semi-final return leg at FUFA Stadium Kadiba on May 16.

On Saturday May 3, Vipers SC held Kitara FC 0-0 at Royal Park Butema in Hoima as the Kitende based side awaits to host the return leg at St Mary’s Stadium on May 15.
