Uganda National Basketball team, the Silverbacks star Arthur Kaluma has taken the bold step to declare for the 2023 NBA Draft.

The Creighton University’s Blue Jersey player, who is also siblings with Ugandan basketball star Adam Seiko, made the revelation public on Sunday.

“After much prayer and thoughtful consideration, I have decided to enter the 2023 NBA Draft,” he stated in a statement he put out.

“I am excited to take this next step in my basketball journey and look forward to what the future holds,” the youngster added.

“I am beyond grateful for the love and support that has helped me reach this point in my Basketball journey.”

This season with Blue Jersey, Kaluma has averaged 11.8 points, 1.6 assists, and 6.0 rebounds for a game.

Despite being Ugandan, he grew up in Texas and went to Universal Academy, before moving to Dream City Christian School in Arizona.

From there, in 2021 he joined Creighton University and he has been putting on a good show for his institute and the national team.

About the NBA Draft

The 2023 NBA draft, the 77th edition will be held on June 22, 2023, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The draft will consist of 58 picks instead of the typical 60 due to the loss of a second-round pick for both the Chicago Bulls and the Philadelphia 76ers.

They violated the NBA’s tampering rules during free agency and, as it stands, Kaluma has two slots less to fight for.
