The Prisons side, coached by Imelda Nyongesa had done enough to go away with the win but lost concentration in the last quarter, giving away the lead and the game.

The first quarter went square at 10 goal up despite the fact that KCCA first had a four goals advantage before the end of quarter one.

KCCA never won any quarter until they turned the tables in the decisive quarter, the fourth one.

Quarter one ended 10-10, second quarter ended 25-23, 34-33 for third quarter and the final quarter ended 45-48.

Hassan Nourdine Kato who was on the touchline in absence of his senior, Fred Mugerwa made two tactical changes that eventually won him two points.

He realized that his defense was short and couldn’t stop the reception of balls by Christine Namulumba who had height advantage over them.

This saw him introduce towering Hanisha Muhammed in the third quarter to tame balls into the scoring area, he also put on Sharila Shafic in centre to control possession.

Hanisha came in as the goalkeeper to match Namulumba’s height and Sharila in the centre who reduced the number of balls going into KCCA’s scoring circle.

“It was a tactical switch, we found out that our two defenders were short compared to Prisons’ shooter (Namulumba) and it worked,” said Kato Hassan Nourdine after the game.

Now KCCA has managed to beat all the title contenders, NIC, Weyonje, Prisons and UCU.
KCCA sit on top of the table with 20 points, followed by Prisons on18 and NIC 16.

In other results, UPDF got a walkover since Mutelx Life Sport didn’t show up, UCU and Africa Renewal University played for a 46 up draw, the first draw of the season while Weyonje beat Police 56-47.
