UCU Netball Club rounded off a Netball Super League season double over Makindye Weyonje Netball Club, in a narrow 39-38 victory at the Luzira Prisons grounds on Wednesday.
For the entire game, two points separated the sides every quarter, underlining how close it got from start till the final whistle.
The result extended UCU’s recent form to three successive wins, following previous victories over Mutelx and Africa Renewal.
The Wednesday victory left head coach Nelson Bogere justly joyous, crediting his players for the fight.
“All the credit goes to these ladies because they perfectly followed the game plan and stuck to the principles,” he said after the match.
“It wasn’t an easy game as Weyonje gave us a perfect game, but in the end, the best side deserved to win,” he added.
In the other games on the day, Prisons thrashed Posta 82-23 while UPDF eased past Busia in a 60-44 victory.
Meanwhile, leaders KCCA made light work of Busia, thumping them 87-34 to strengthen their grip at the top of the table.
