Wakiso Giants FC‘s dismal form in the League continued as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Blacks Power FC at the Akii-Bua Memorial Stadium on Wednesday.

Micheal Siwu‘s late header guided the hosts to a significant victory, which helped them escape  the relegation zone.

The win was Blacks Power‘s first in eight matches, having picked their last victory at UPDF in November 2022.

Meanwhile, the result implied Wakiso Giants is yet to register a win from their last five league outings.

The Purple Sharks have picked one point from three matches in the second round, slipping to fifth on the table, and were eliminated from the Uganda Cup by Vipers SC.

However for most of the campaign, John Luyinda Ayala‘s troops have had to make do without a number of their stars.

Playmaker Ibrahim Kasule  made an unsuccesful attempt to join professional ranks in Turkey.

Titus Ssematimba has been in and out of the team due to national team duties.

Other absentees are Apollo Kagogwe and Ronald Madoi who featured for Uganda Hippos in both the AFCON qualifiers and finals.

Joshua Lubwama was released to URA FC during the transfer window.
