Uganda Volleyball Lady Cranes beat Morocco to register a second successive victory at the ongoing Women’s African Volleyball Championships in Yaounde, Cameroon.
In what was a hugely contested affair, the Lady Cranes emerged narrow 3-2 winners on the day.
At the onset, it looked as though it would be an easy one for Uganda after impressively taking the first set 25-15.
However, Morocco returned for the second set much stronger as they won it 28-26, before winning the third set as well, 25-17.
With defeat looking the most likely result for the Lady Cranes, they regrouped in the fourth set, and impressively took it 25-16.
The fifth and decisive set was a mix of nerves and pure entertainment as both sides fought for every point, before Tonny Lakony‘s side eventually edged it 15-11, for a close 3-2 victory.
It will be nerves again for Uganda, later on Friday as they take on arch-nemesis and neighbors Kenya in a regional derby.
