The She Cranes, Uganda’s national netball team, will look to bounce back from their loss to Jamaica when they face Wales on Wednesday in the 2023 Netball World Cup.

The She Cranes lost to the physically stout Jamaicans 61-49 on Monday in the first match of the second preliminary stage.

However, they were not short of effort though, as they competed throughout, save from the second quarter where they were out-muscled to a 23-09 lead.

In the first, they had competed well, losing by just 15-12, before they made an even better third quarter, which they won 16-11.

The two sides then tied the final quarter 12-12 to give the Jamaicans victory, albeit, condemning the She Cranes to a second loss at the tournament.

Mary Nuba Cholhok managed 28 goals, the same as Jamaican star Jhaniele Fowler.

However, it was Shadiah Nassanga, who off the bench, starred to manage 15 goals and scoop the Player of the Match award.

Meanwhile, victory against Wales will come in handy for Mugerwa’s team.

It won’t be a walk in the park though as Wales are ranked ninth in the world, trailing Uganda by just a spot.
