The Uganda Volleyball Lady Cranes made light work of Lesotho at the 2023 CAVB African Women’s Nations Championship on Wednesday in Yaounde, Cameroon.
The Lady Cranes, who are making their first appearance at the continental tournament in 14 years, won 3-0 (25-10, 25-5, 25-10) to get off to a winning start in Pool B.
Joan Tushemereirwe and Catherine Ainembabazi were the stars of the show for Uganda, scoring 12 and 11 points respectively.
Tonny Lakony’s charges will now face Kenya, Rwanda, Morocco, Burkina Faso and Lesotho in the group stage.
The top four teams will advance to the quarter-finals.
This is a great start for the Lady Cranes and they will be hoping to build on this momentum in the next match against Morocco today.
