Victoria Pearls captain Consy Aweko says her team will head into their second game with a ‘positive mindset’.

Uganda lost their first game of the Capricorn Eagles Quadrangular Series by 50 runs to UAE.

The East African face Hong Kong on Thursday hoping to get the better of the team they best in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings.

“We had light training today at Wanderers where we worked on our batting, bowling, and some bit of fielding,” Aweko said.

“Everyone is in good shape, the players are mentally ready for the game. We expect to do our best and get a win.”

Uganda assistant coach Lawrence Ssempija agrees with his captain, and he says they have worked on what led to that devastating defeat on Tuesday.

“We have worked on the mistakes we had in our first game, we hope to give them a good fight.”

Uganda will hope their opening batter Proscovia Alako rediscovers her batting form as they need her mojo back more than herself.

The two teams will meet at the United Ground in Windhoek where all games are being played.

Uganda will take a rest on Friday and will return to action on Saturday in a doubleheader that will involve hosts Namibia and UAE.
