The Planning and Organising Committee entrusted by Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) to organise its competitions started stadia inspection ahead of 2022/23 Netball Super League season.

Tentatively, the new season is slated to throw off in the first week of September 2022 at Kamwokya Community Sports Centre, Kampala and 14 clubs are expected to feature in this year’s edition.

The committee decided to at least host the league on different grounds with the idea of exposing the game to different parts of the country rather than concentrate in the central region like the norm has been.

A total of six grounds were chosen to host the league on condition that they pass the minimum standards.

And those grounds include; Prison Grounds in Luzira, Kamwokya Community Sports Centre in Kamwokya, Weyonje Grounds Kibuli, Busia Greater Lions Netball Arena in Busia, Bombo Barracks Netball Grounds in Bombo, Air Force Grounds in Entebbe.

By press time, four of the six had undergone the inspection process and the chairperson of the organizing committee, Michael Kakande tasked the ground owners to improve on the standards of their grounds.

“We want to take the game to another level because we want to professionalise our league, so we have standards we want a ground to have before hosting games.”

Kakande added “this season we want the fans to start paying small money as entrance fee, so we look at your ground, can it make it convenient to do that, the standard of the court, the goal posts, the sanitation of the venue, security and other few issues?”

The four inspected grounds so far are; Busia Greater Lions Netball Arena, Kamwokya Community Sports Ground, Weyonje Grounds and Prison Grounds.

“We are going to come up with a report after inspection, then we shall be telling you which grounds have passed and those failed, we are remaining with only two grounds and we are soon visiting them,” Kakande spoke to Nnalubaale Sports midweek after inspecting Kamwokya.
