  • Buhimba United Saints FC 0-2 Lugazi FC

Freedom Mungudit and Hamza Mulambuzi powered Lugazi FC to a vital 2-0 away win over Buhimba United Saints at Royal Park, Butema, Hoima on Wednesday evening, a result that lifts them eight points clear of the Uganda Premier League relegation zone.

Lugazi needed just one minute to take control. Freedom Mungudit struck early in the second minute after being set up by Billy Wabwire, giving the visitors a dream start and silencing the home crowd.

Buhimba tried to respond and came close in the 19th minute, but their equaliser was ruled out for offside.

Despite spells of pressure, they could not break through Lugazi’s organised defence and went into halftime trailing 1-0.

After the break, Buhimba pushed harder, but their attacks lacked sharpness.

An injury to Kasaija David in the 65th minute disrupted their rhythm further before he was replaced in the 71st minute.

Lugazi stayed patient, defended well, and waited for their moment. It arrived late.

In the 88th minute, Hamza Mulambuzi sealed the win, finishing off a move set up by Mungudit, who capped a fine performance with a goal and assist.

At full time, Buhimba United Saints 0-2 Lugazi FC reflected a composed and efficient display from the visitors.

Freedom Mungudit won the MOTM.

The win moves Lugazi to 12th place on 23 points, now eight clear of the relegation zone, with Buhimba remaining in danger.

Elsewhere, Police FC beat UPDF FC 2-0 in Kamwokya through Charles Bbaale and Brian Obedi, while Entebbe UPPC also saw off Calvary FC 2-0 in Bugonga.
