2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Wednesday April 29, 2026 | MD 26
- Police FC 2-0 UPDF FC
Police Football Club responded strongly to their previous forces derby setback, defeating UPDF 2-0 to complete a Uganda Premier League double on Wednesday at the Kiira Road Police Arena, Kamwokya.
Just five days after losing 2-1 to Maroons, Police bounced back with a confident performance, controlling the game early and finishing clinically in their second straight derby fixture.
Charles Bbaale set the tone in the eighth minute with a superb curling finish into the top corner, giving Police an early lead and settling the home side.
He later missed a chance to double the advantage in a one on one situation against UPDF goalkeeper Richard Anyama, who kept his side in the game.
UPDF threatened in the first half, but Police goalkeeper Sammon Oloka made a key save in the 34th minute to deny Christopher Kamagu from close range.
Seven minutes after the restart, Brian James Obedi sealed the win with a fine strike from a tight angle, doubling Police’s lead and easing the pressure on the hosts.

Police managed the rest of the match comfortably to secure maximum points.

The victory lifts Police to sixth place with 44 points, while UPDF remain 13th on 21 points after 26 matches.
Police next travel to face Calvary on May 6, while UPDF head to Bugonga to meet Entebbe UPPC the following day.
Elsewhere, Lugazi beat Buhimba 2-0 away in Butema, while Entebbe UPPC also recorded a 2-0 win over Calvary.
