- UPDF FC 0-1 Express FC
Elvis Ssekajugo’s late strike gave Express a 1-0 win over UPDF in Bombo on Wednesday, sealing a season double in a match shaped as much by grit as by football.
Despite a 3-1 win over Police FC on Matchday 22, it has not been an easy period for the Red Eagles.
Coach Jimmy Kintu recently revealed the squad has gone months without pay, and there were even concerns about transport to Bombo. Still, they showed up and delivered.
The game started with a scare for Express. Inside five minutes, goalkeeper Hafizi Khassim fumbled while trying to play out from the back, but UPDF failed to punish the mistake.
After that, chances were scarce, with both sides struggling to break each other down.
Just when the game seemed headed for a draw, Express found a way. Ssekajugo, who came on in the second half for Mikidad Ssenyonga, reacted quickest in the box after Bernard Muwanga failed to clear, slotting home from close range with a minute left.

The win keeps Express 10th with 29 points, while UPDF remain 13th on 17, hovering just above the relegation zone as pressure continues to build.
Next, UPDF FC will visit BUL FC on Tuesday April 21 while Express FC host NEC later on the same day.
Elsewhere Calvary FC drew goalless with Lugazi at the Midigo Primary School coming off their first top flight win on Matchday 22.
