- Calvary FC 0-0 Lugazi FC
Calvary picked up a second straight result but were left wanting more after a goalless draw with Lugazi at Midigo Primary School Playground.
Coming into the match off their first win of the season against Buhimba United Saints, the Yumbe side looked to build momentum in their fight against relegation. A win would have done more for their cause, but a point still keeps a faint hope alive.
Lugazi started brighter and nearly took the lead early on, only for Hadji Shukuru to make a sharp save in the fifth minute. They remained the better side in the first half and came closest to scoring when a mix-up at the back gifted them a chance, but the effort struck the crossbar.
Calvary improved after the break and showed more urgency going forward. Their best chance fell to Lawrence Olaboro, whose shot hit the post, summing up a day of near misses for both sides.
In the end, neither team did enough to win it. The result leaves Calvary bottom of the table on nine points, while Lugazi stay 12th with 20. For Calvary, it’s now four points from two matches but time is running out.
In their next games, Calvary FC will visit Kitara FC on Wednesday April 22, and Lugazi FC host SC Villa on the same day.
