As the Federation of Motorsport in Uganda launches the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, the Patron of the Motorsport Federation, Honorable Captain Mike Mukula, has urged Ugandans to participate in the Rally and encouraged them to protect themselves.
Speaking at the launch at the Mestil Hotel Nsambya, he said, “It is very important to support car sports because it is very important for the development of Uganda, especially in tourism.”

“I urge fellow Ugandans to gather in Mbarara in big numbers, but they also have to take the first responsibility for safety, mainly protecting themselves from sexually transmitted diseases.”
The rally will be held from May 7 to 10 in the Mbarara region, with motorists competing over 201 kilometers and traveling a total of 490 kilometers.
Secretary General of the Federation of African Sports, Reynold Kibira, said the Pearl of Africa Rally has been held in Mbarara.
