As he graces the closing ceremony of Kampala Region Ball games 1 and U20 Boys Football Qualifiers at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo on April 14, USSSA President Justus Mugisha confirmed the separation of the games.
While speaking to sports reporters at the event he stated, “In the interest of easy following for the games by the entire community, we decided to separate dates for Ball games 1 Nationals, and the U20 Boys football national championship.”
For years, both Championships have been running concurrently at different destinations, and this time the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association decided to maintain the hosting mode of the championship but on different dates.
The Ball games 1 championships shall come first at Seroma Christian High School between April 29 and May 9 while the U20 Boys Football National Championship shall follow on dates of May 10 to May 20 at Lira Town College.
The Ball Games 1 includes Championships for different sports disciplines such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Hockey, Basketball, all for both genders while Netball and U20 Girls Football are restricted to the female gender.
Around 250 teams from across Uganda are expected to take part in both the Ball Games 1 National Championships and the U20 Boys Football National Championship.
