After a successful 2026 Kampala Region Ball Games 1 and U20 Boys Football Qualifiers to USSSA National Championships, held at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo between April 11 and 14, 2026.

Hamz Stadium Head of Management Rogers Mulindwa has highlighted the importance of hosting such events, “As the management of Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, we are pleased to have hosted schools from the Kampala Region. On our agenda, we look forward to hosting safe sports competitions and providing Ugandans with the best environment. Most of our youth in sport continue to sustain avoidable injuries due to poor facilities. As Hamz Stadium, we are also working on that case.”

“By hosting this year’s Kampala Region Schools Championships, we have achieved our goals set by our proprietor, Hajji Hamis Kiggundu,” he added.

For almost a week, Hamz Stadium hosted the Kampala Region qualifiers to USSSA Ball Games 1 and U20 Boys Football Championships, with teams from different schools participating in table tennis, basketball, football, and netball.

In water swimming, Kampala Region Secretary Abbey Ssentongo showed impressive team performances, courtesy of the good facility, and revealed the package.

“This year, in the Kampala Region, we have experienced an improvement in the performances of our teams. We have seen that to have good displays, you need the best facilities, and Hamz Stadium has revealed that. We have been here for almost a week for free and they added refreshments for our teams and officials.”

The championship saw teams like Lubiri SS winning the U20 Boys Football qualifier, Kawempe Muslim SS retaining the girls’ football, Nabisunsa Girls retaining the basketball, while Kibuli SS retained the Boys Basketball and Table Tennis for both genders.

The event was graced by USSSA president Justus Mugisha, who was joined by USSSA CEO Chris Mugisha, Marketing and Communication Manager Bosco Omario, and Vice President Harriet Apolot, all at the Gold Section.

All winners, silver and bronze medalists, and individual awards.
