2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Thursday May 7, 2026 | MD 27
- Entebbe UPPC FC Vs UPDF FC – Entebbe Fisheries Ground | 4 pm
UPDF’s survival fight has reached a critical stage, and Thursday’s trip to Entebbe UPPC feels like another must win match for the Army side.
Alex Gitta’s men head to Fisheries Ground in Bugonga under growing pressure after results elsewhere tightened the battle at the bottom of the Uganda Premier League table.
Calvary’s surprise win over Police has only increased the urgency for a UPDF side still hovering dangerously close to relegation.
UPDF start the day 14th with 21 points, just four above the drop zone, and another defeat could leave them in serious trouble heading into the final stretch of the season.
Their latest outing ended in a frustrating 2-0 loss to Police, a result that once again exposed their struggles in front of goal.
With only five wins from 26 matches this season, UPDF can no longer afford missed opportunities.
Forwards Ivan Bogere, Enrique Lubwama and Samson Kigozi will need to step up against one of the league’s strongest defensive sides.
But Entebbe UPPC also have plenty to play for, Abdallah Mubiru’s side are chasing a top five finish and arrive full of confidence after beating Calvary 2-0 in their previous match.

Ambrose Kigozi and Isa Bugembe scored in that victory as the Printers moved to 43 points from 26 games.
A win on Thursday could lift them into fifth place, Kigozi remains the danger man after scoring the winner when UPPC beat UPDF 1-0 in Bombo earlier this season.
The forward now has 11 league goals and is closing in on KCCA’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe in the race for the Golden Boot.
With Laban Tibita, Julius Poloto and Bugembe also in good form, UPPC will fancy their chances of completing a league double over the visitors.
Elsewhere, KCCA host Maroons at Lugogo in Thursday’s late kick-off.
