- KCCA FC Vs Maroons FC – Phillip Omondi Stadium | 8 pm
That is the question tonight at Phillip Omondi Stadium as KCCA FC host Maroons FC in a must win Uganda Premier League clash.
KCCA’s title charge has lost momentum at the worst time, a defeat to Calvary in Midigo was followed by a frustrating 1-1 draw against rivals Vipers, where they conceded late after Ivan Ahimbisibwe had given them the lead from the penalty spot.
The dropped points left KCCA third on 52 points, seven behind leaders Vipers with only four matches remaining.

Tonight, there is little room for error;
“After that poor run, all we have in mind now is to play and collect maximum points,” said KCCA co-coach Jackson Magera.

“We have to create chances and take them. We also need to stay organised and avoid conceding goals.”
KCCA will miss suspended midfielder Saidi Mayanja, while Derrick Nsibambi and Bright Anukani remain injured.
There is some relief though, with left back James Mubezi returning after two months out with a fractured hand. Forward Kennedy Muserero is also back after illness.
But KCCA face a Maroons side arriving in Lugogo with confidence.
The Luzira based side are unbeaten in their last three matches, drawing with URA and Mbarara City before beating Police 3-1. They have also lost just once in their last nine league games.

The reverse fixture between the two sides ended goalless in Luzira, while Maroons’ last visit to Lugogo in 2023 ended in a memorable 2-1 victory powered by a Fred Amaku brace.
Now ninth on 34 points, Maroons are chasing a top eight finish and another strong result against KCCA.
The Kasasiro Boys’ pressure is far greater and anything short of victory could finally end their slim hopes of catching Vipers in the title race.
