Wananchi Hockey Club (W) edged Weatherhead Gazelles 3-2 in a thrilling final on Sunday to win the Weatherhead Open.
Weatherhead had Anita Atim score both goals for them, but were unable to outscore Wananchi who have now won this competition four times in a row.
The goals for Wananchi came from Jolly Alimo, Elizabeth Nampeera and Juliet Aber.
It was yet another heartbreaking year for the Gazelles who have not won this trophy since 2018.
Alimo, for her display was named the Player of the tournament while Atim took home the top scorers award with her 8 goals.
Focus will now return to the league where KHC Swans lead the table with 16 points. Weatherhead is second and Wananchi are third.
It will be a top of the table clash when the league returns as Weatherhead will take on KHC Swans.
