Table leaders Weatherhead face bottom-placed Thunders in the women’s National Hockey League.

The former champions head into Saturday’s game looking to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

Like their men’s side, Weatherhead leads the women’s table standings, with a difference of two points.

The side has accumulated 13 points thus far, two ahead of second-placed Wananchi however, the latter has played a game less.

Though, Weatherhead haven’t been convincing as they have scored just twelve goals with Anitah Atim scoring half the goals.

And, they have conceded twelve times. Meanwhile, their title rivals have notched 43 while letting in only two.

They will head into this game knowing nothing but victory will keep them atop as Wananchi possesses a superior goal difference.

Wananchi takes on Weatherhead Historicals

The other game of the day has Wananchi facing another underdog in Weatherhead Historicals.

The encounter which they are likely to win thanks to their rich squad means that their chances of claiming the top spot if Weatherhead slips up are higher.

Wananchi’s Doreen Mbabazi (16) and Norah Alum (10) top the scoring charts in the women’s division and they will be key in Wananchi’s quest to reclaim the trophy.

Other fixtures in the women’s division will see defending champions Deliverance Church take on KHC on Sunday while Wananchi HDF will face Makerere.

Deliverance Church sits fourth in the table standings with eight points while KHC occupies the third position with 10. HDF are placed fifth while Makerere sits sixth.
