The Baby Victoria Pearls showed their seniors how to beat Namibia with a comprehensive four wickets win.
The youngsters took on a side that has owned their big sisters since 2019, the last pounding a 5-0 loss early this year in Namibia.
Uganda won the toss and elected to bowl first and while they struggled to pick up wickets Namibia also was not cruising with the bat as well.
The breakthrough came with 57 runs on board but Player of The Match Patricia Timong picked three wickets and Annet Anume who claimed two were the stars with the ball.
The chase was not fluid but Patricia Timong 18 and Malisa Ariokot 20 points played good cameos with the bat that helped Uganda win with 15 balls to spare.
An opening match win that should give the girls a lot of confidence for the rest of the tournament was a successful mission.
They will face Sierra Leone tomorrow before finishing the group games against hosts Botswana.
