FUFA Big League table leaders Kitara FC have unveiled legendary tactician Sam Ssimbwa as their new head coach.
The developments were made official on Sunday evening after Kitara’s 3-1 win over Kagadi United in a friendly match held at Kigaaya playgrounds.
“We this evening officially unveiled Sam Ssimbwa Bamweyana as our new head coach,” partly read the club statement.
“He will be assisted by George Lutalo and Hamza Muwonge as the first assistant and goalkeeping coaches respectively. Nicholas Isaac Ssengoba keeps his role as the team physiotherapist.”
The self-styled gaffer returns to active coaching having been out for close to two years, since parting ways with URA FC in 2021.
With the second-tier side, Ssimbwa takes over from Mark Twinamatsiko who was sacked by the team last month over discipline-related issues.
The former Express FC, KCCA FC, and Tooro United head coach will have the immediate task of guiding Kitara to the Uganda Premier League, as they currently occupy the summit with 31 points.
