Bunyonyi recovered from the worst possible start after Robinson Obuya fell off the first ball of the innings. Joseph Baguma led the response with 36 off 21 balls, while Anas Baig added 19. Abu Seguya and Mulongo Paul chipped in with 17 runs each as the Warriors posted 136 all out in 18.4 overs.

Kyoga’s bowlers kept things tight, with Ivan Baidhu and Dan Keith Amani taking three wickets each while Munir Ismail picked up two.

In reply, Kyoga started brightly through Conrad Lubwama (22) and Ronald Lutaaya (21), but regular wickets stalled the chase. Gerald Olipa scored 18 and captain Juma Miyaji made 20, yet no batter was able to anchor the innings.

  • Mburo Blasters 112/10 in 15.2 overs

Simon Ssesazi starred with 64 off 39 balls, while Pius Oloka scored 29 and Robert Ajuna added a quick-fire 43 off 21 deliveries to help Victoria Strikers post 180 for six.

Mburo’s chase never recovered after an early collapse. Brian Asaba made 33, Charles Musemeza scored 29 and Innocent Mwebaze struck 35 off just 13 balls, but Victoria remained in control throughout.

Mathew Musinguzi was the standout performer with the ball, claiming 5 for 12 as Mburo were dismissed for 112 in 15.2 overs. He was named Player of the Match.

Despite the defeat, Kyoga Avengers remain top of the standings with 10 points. Mburo Blasters are second on six, while Victoria Strikers and Bunyonyi Warriors both move to four points.

The tournament continues on June 18 with Victoria Strikers facing Bunyonyi Warriors in the morning before Kyoga Avengers take on Mburo Blasters in the afternoon.
