Kawempe Muslim moved within one win of a domestic double after reaching the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup final, where they will face first time finalists Kampala Queens.
The league champions secured their place in the final with a commanding 6-0 aggregate victory over defending champions Amus College. Kawempe won both semifinal legs 3-0, first in Bukedea and then at Valley Grounds, to complete a dominant performance.
Having already lifted the FUFA Women Super League title this season, Kawempe now have the chance to become only the second team in Ugandan women’s football history to complete a league and cup double.
Kampala Queens also had plenty to celebrate after reaching the FUFA Women’s Cup final for the first time in the club’s history.
The Queens of Soccer eliminated Lady Doves 4-0 on aggregate, winning both semifinal legs 2-0. Kamiyati Naigaga and Joanita Ainembabazi proved decisive once again, scoring in both matches to guide their side into the final.
Their achievement marks another milestone for a club that has steadily established itself among the country’s top women’s teams.
The final will be played this Saturday at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, with both sides chasing a first FUFA Women’s Cup title.
The match is guaranteed to produce a new champion. Since the competition was introduced, no team has won the trophy twice or successfully defended it. With neither Kawempe Muslim nor Kampala Queens having lifted the cup before, that trend will continue.
For Kawempe, the final offers the chance to cap a superb season with a domestic double. For Kampala Queens, it presents an opportunity to make history by winning the first major cup title in the club’s history.
One team will leave Kadiba with a maiden crown, while the other will fall just short of a memorable campaign.
