Amus College moved a step closer to making history after surviving a tense quarterfinal battle to reach the semifinals of the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup.
The defending champions edged She Maroons 9-8 in a penalty shootout on Sunday after a goalless draw in normal time, keeping alive their bid to become the first team to successfully defend the trophy.
Since the competition was introduced, no club has managed to retain the FUFA Women’s Cup or win it twice. Amus now have a chance to change that.
Their reward is a semifinal showdown against Kawempe Muslim, who beat Wakiso Hill 2-0 thanks to goals from Latifah Nakasi and Asia Nakibuuka.
The clash revives memories of last year’s final when Amus defeated Kawempe Muslim 1-0 at Lugogo to lift their first-ever FUFA Women’s Cup title.
Kawempe, already crowned champions of the 2025/26 FUFA Women Super League, will be eager to avenge that defeat and keep their hopes of a domestic double alive.
The other semifinal will see Lady Doves face Kampala Queens.
Lady Doves secured their place in the last four with a 1-0 victory over UCU Lady Cardinals, while Kampala Queens eliminated St Noa Girls by the same scoreline.
The semifinals will be played over two legs, with the first matches scheduled for June 13 and the return fixtures on June 17.
While Kawempe Muslim, Kampala Queens and Lady Doves are all chasing a first FUFA Women’s Cup title, Amus College have their sights set on something bigger, becoming the competition’s first successful title defenders.
